The Restaurant
The Hillside Restaurant in DeKalb got its name from having to walk up the hill to get to the restaurant. The Hillside Restaurant was founded in 1955, which makes it one of the longest established restaurants in Northern Illinois. The restaurant was started by Nancy Fraser and her mother Helen. Our focus is to bring homemade favorites and brand-new creations our guests. We change our menu depending on the season to fit our customer’s taste. We have the advantage of having a great location as it's only a few minutes away from Northern Illinois University.
Our Kitchen
We pride ourselves in serving homemade favorites, as well as creating the newest trends in food. Our food is changed seasonally, and we love creating a new ambience with each season. In our kitchen, we have many talented chefs who are trained to meet the quality we desire for our customers.
